Don’t Fret Coz Now You Won’t Sweat!

Sweating is a biological process occurring in our body due to various activities performed by us or by the surrounding conditions. However excessive sweating or Hyperhidrosis is a situation where the body perspires more than the usual. It generally takes place in the underarms, palms and toes. This happens due to extraneous activities and exercises, hot weather, food habits, heredity, abnormal functions of brain and nerves.

Underarm sweating is also called axillary sweating. It can be due to genetics or even improper hygiene. This can cause odor problem since bacteria generally breed on sweat. The major cure can be that of applying deodorants with antiperspirants. Hand Sweating or Palmar Hyperhidrosis is a hereditary disease which can be caused due to mental and emotional stimuli. The different methods of curing this include acupuncture, surgery and injections. Other treatments can be done by applying lotions or creams that stop excessive sweating. But they have short-term effect.

Excessive feet sweating or Pedal Hyperhidrosis, apart from genetics, can be caused when the feet are covered most of the time. Foul odor from the feet indicates the disease. It can be cured by iontophoresis where the tap water is used to pass electricity through the skin. Also applications of antiperspirants are common. Excessive sweating is an important health concern and hence measures should be taken to prevent it.
